ATHLETICS SPORTS HALL IN VILNIUS

Task

Preparation of the technical project of reconstruction of the sports destination building – the sports hall.

Solution

The additional row of columns is installed and the extension of the building is formed from the building‘s sides that are parallel to Kedrų Street; the rectangular extension is designed in the inner courtyard. The premises, adapted for the activities of the sports hall, are installed in the reconstructed building. The shot-put, discus and javelin throwing sectors, the weightlifting hall are installed in the extension part.
Building volumes are separated and highlighted by different materials, colours and textures. The aim is to reduce the scale of the building and to integrate it into the building environment. The representative image of the building expressing the target functional purpose is formed.
