Task

The use of the former synagogue for cultural purposes.

Solution

Pakruojis synagogue was built in 1801, at the turn of the baroque and classicist epochs. After the Second World War, the synagogue was transformed into the cinema, and later the warehouse. The structure was completely neglected; its condition was in the state of emergency. During the project preparation, it was strived to preserve authentic wood baroque interior and exterior details. The planned structure, details, the wall and vault decoration of the synagogue were restored. The aron kodesh and bim places were marked.
